The Cork and Bull
4 Cumberland Street, Luton, Bedfordshire
A curious name for a pub that may have come about when they wanted to indicate they sold wine as well as beer with cider. A white figure glimpsed here, is possibly the ghost of Ann, murdered in the pub so long ago that the date locals have forgotten. Locals knew her to talk to visitors. They were unaware she is a phantom. Ann, observers describe, as wearing white clothing with shoes. Some customers have reported actually sitting with talking with her. In response, Ann has often touched these individuals on the hand or arms as they talk.
