The Carpenters Arms
10 High St, Great Wilbraham, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
With history over three centuries, the inn carries a sign showing three compasses with a setsquare from the early days of masonry, which included carpenters. It exhibits ghostly manifestations. These include at least three ghosts. Reporters have heard footsteps, heavily treading across a floor, accompanied by a rattling doorknob. Several executions took place in the village. At least one of the prisoners haunts this pub. Authorities had held him there before his hanging. This apparition manifests as a tall man wearing an 18th century grey suit with a large, white shirt collar over the jacket with across the shoulders.
