The Queens Head Inn
Southwold Rd, Blyford, Halesworth, Suffolk
This is a five centuries old inn with a thatched roof where loud footsteps have been audible at different times of day. There have been little explosive sounds and, on one occasion, a cloud of blue lights appeared which hovered, with then dissolved through a wardrobe door. Legend has it of a gun battle between Revenue men and local smugglers at Blyford. Several seriously wounded men were carried to the Queens Head and died here. Their ghosts are reported to wander through the pub at night, with sounds of weeping. At the pub there was at least one secret passage to the church nearby, once used by smugglers.
