A fine old stone built former coaching inn from the 17th century, with it is home to quite a horrific ghost. It is that of a headless woman ascending a staircase, with striding towards anyone standing at the top. The legend is that this apparition. Her lover both committed suicide at the Old Angel on the day she was to marry another man. One might infer from that it had been an arranged marriage, with all the attendant problems. There is also a long history of ghostly footsteps, with no one visible, with doors opening and closing of their own volition.
