Royal Oak
Car Ln, Car Colston, Nottinghamshire, East Bridgford
Almost 2,000 years ago, a Roman villa stood on this site, occupied by a high- ranking officer. The Fosse Way runs nearby, which was one of their main military roads to move troops through the country. The building of this pub is about 200 years old. It was at one time a hosiery factory. Now the Royal Oak exhibits ghostly manifestations. these include a Roman officer, complete with shield and short sword. The second apparition is that of an elderly man, dressed in late Victorian clothes that are often seen behind the bar.
