A number of ghostly apparitions haunt this hostelry. The Grey Lady, who witnesses believe to be Ewan Kirk, leads horses in and out of the bar which was once the stables. The highwayman, Wee Mad MacGregor, whose disfigured face was noteworthy especially as he ate has also been seen. A group of who Germans expressed doubt over the authenticity of the haunted reputation of this hostelry were surprised when the fireside implements rearranged themselves. There are also reports of hearing a crying baby or awakening from a deep sleep to witness a white swirling mist.
